Gearbox mount possibly, depending on which side it sits?

Is it a rubber thump or a metal thump?
Is it the turning the steering wheel maneuvering that makes the noise or the lifting the clutch pedal /accelerating /decelerating etc.?
Can you get the noise without turning the steering, simply by leaving the handbrake on and trying to jerk/pull away in first or reverse?
If you look under car at all the suspension bolts etc. are there any signs of rust particles around one bolt/nut, as this can be a sign of a fixing that whilst tight, is not actually holding tight. I have seen this on inner wishbone bolts that are rock solid to a spanner, but under load the wishbone moves as the metalastic part of the rubber bush is not pinched tight in the frame.

Its metallic but new subframe and wishbones were torqued up as was the shocker bolts it seems as its at its worst when moving on full lock while the engine is cold

It's not a sort of metallic clattering when on full lock, say spinning around in a car park and worse in one direction than another?
If so it can be the CV joint on the drive shaft.

Check that the spring is correctly seated. Also check the strut top bearings are mounted correctly. I had a not disimilar knock after having the front end off our Panda. I pulled it down again and was more precise putting it back and it stopped. I think slight misalignment of the spring seat may have been the cause. Maybe also worth considering anti roll bar?

Ah drop links these (even new ones not totally immune) Im sure you know this. I would take the drop links right off, and see if this affects things. Obviously driving slowly If any of these parts are involved it will prove it. I was getting pretty fed up with our Panda. I think in my case the tab on the bottom spring seat pad was just a few degrees off position. I also later had a load of bangs and rattles coming from our 2011 169 Panda that I found were not suspension related although, boy did they sound as if they were. I wedged the radiator and air con condenser with foam and the noises reduced. I never got to the bottom of it but now think the radiator supports were broken or the brakets on the sides of the rad were brokenon one side and the noise was horrid. I lay at the front and gave the whole thing a bump with the side of my fist and in the end managed to replicate the noise. I really feel for you. I would say dont restrict your investigations to the obvious candidates on the basis of what happend to me. We sold the car as I knew the bumper bolts were all seized and I just couldnt be botherd to spend a day getting it out of the way. Im sure moving the bumper out of the way would have revealed what was going on.
