My punto has a bit of a knocking noise coming from underneath the car, I'v checked the rear heat shield and also the one covering the manifold. Both were loose, but I'v sorted this out ! Any one have any idea where this could be coming from ? It only makes the noise when the car goes over a bump.

Yeah I'l give both of those a check tomorrow, i'v actually got two brand new mounts for the exhaust. Annoyingly I'v not got a ramp to use to get under the car !

Have a look at the bump stops for the rear springs. I know when I replaced mine the knocking almost went away - now the back box is repositioned it's gone away completely.

You will be able to replace the mounts with just a jack and axle stands, tbh I replaced 2 of my exhaust mounts few weeks back by just lieing under the car and stretching

can you start monday?:D
i struggle doing these even after undoing body drop bits
also i was working on one this week and the rear bracket in the floorpan in front of the tank has a 15mm bolt head,i wouldnt attempt to undo it as i reconned even at that size the bolt would shear
use oil or fairy liquid of course to ease new rubbers on
cut old ones off with hacksaw not stanley knife in case you slip(y)
