Hi folks,

I am a newbee here coming from Czech Republic. I have been searching for a forum related to new Fiat Bravo in my country but well it is probably too early ... I googled fiat forum and ... I got here. Hoping that I won't be ignored here :)

I collected Bravo 1.4 Spiritual Ivory last month and I am enjoying my new darling, indeed.
One thing, though, bothers me fairly... When turning left a strange sound goes from left rear door (seat just behind a driver seat), it also sounds when riding over cobblestones. It is like knocking. But it doesn't knock when turning right. Tried to trace the sound and I think it is beneath door padding ... maybe ... you know when driving you have other things to care for. I also tried my wife to sit towards the door ... yeah you know ... she listened something but she wasn't capable to say from where the knocking comes. So I went for a fiat service but to my surprise a serviceman listened also something but said …”it is nothing serious you can drive safely and you know we are overloaded now”… He continued …”wait for yearly service control and we will take a look then”... Next service control is in August 2008 ... It was a bad joke  You will surely understand that I don't want to wait for so long. It looks unfortunately that in my country you are lauded only when you want to spend huge money with buying a car but then ... Still to learn from mature European countries.

Anyhow, can you somebody shed light on my problem. I am almost determined to dismantle the door but I don't know how to do that. Do you have any clue?

Thx and regards,

Lazy bastards... go and check at another station. If they refuse to take you in, write a letter to Fiat central office:

SOLVED!!!

I have been advised by a friend of mine to visit a small car service in our town. So I explained them what I am hearing from the door and I drove them around the corner. Surprisingly I learnt then that the knocking is not coming from the door but it goes from the rear seat instead. He lifted the seat up and oiled rubber edges of the seat which are in contact with the seat frame ... and ... the terrific sound disappeared :) He said that the car is so new and some materials, especially rubber bits, need to wear off a little.

Occasionally I will teach the "specialists" in the fiat service how to solve the door's problem :D .

Just to let you know.
