I was seriously tempted to buy a kia, 7 year bumper to bumper warranty. luckily (i think) my heart prevailed and got the car in sig. but what do you make of this warranty? do you think other manufacturers will follow suit? i know hyundai has 5 year. It really puts countrys like germany to shame. I mean germany, world famous precision engineering and great cars, some are 3 year warranties and kia (lets face it, basically a second world country) are putting cars out with 7 year warrantys. what do you think ?

new gps have a five year

08 reg series 2 onwards

yeah i think it gets broken down a tad.

so certain things are covered for 1 year then others for 3 then others for 5 and some bits covered for the full seven(y)

Well thats what i assumed, but the dealer told me its a 7 year bumper to bumper warranty (that covers basically everything you would expect to be covered in your first year all the way through the 7 years) thats why its "ground breaking"

7th year covers only the things that very rarely break. Most begining to follow suit anyway. Fiats had a 5 year on the Bravo for a wee while now. rest of the range set to follow.

Also the Kias don't tend to be too adventurous with technology so it's all tried and tested stuff. Sure the picanto originally came with a steam engine.

I dont know but im sure jug will share his views within about 5 minutes....
have i waited long enough yet? :p

a picture paints a thousand words, so this pic says "the GP looks minging" 250 times.

sit in a ceed and you can easily tell its a top quality product from the design to the materials to the assembly. its a cross between german and japanese, borrowing the best bits from both.

i havent driven one yet. i have been meaning to take a test drive for some time, but i keep hoping if i wait they will bring out a warm diesel version.

i doubt the 7 year warranty will continue to be offered forever. it is a market penetration tool. people have doubts over kia reliability and concerns about depreciation. this warranty is designed to deal with both. i bet once kia have beaten public ignorance their warranty will shrink to a more normal level (and their sales will increase to a normal level too).

until then, take advantage! its not very often you can get VW quality with toyota engineering and fiat pricing all thrown together with a 7 year warranty.

the ceed isnt a korean car any more than a jaguar is indian. it is designed, tested and built in europe by europeans. that may be its biggest strength or its biggest weakness. probably both.

that looks really good!! god they used to make me barf, reminds me of a is200

problem is that after the warrenty has expired it will be worth about 50p

korean car parts are quite expensive and you will have to sell it with a few years warrenty remaining to see any value.

I'd have the Pro C'eed tomorrow in its 2 litre diesel guise. Was only looking at them yesterday with the Missus.
www.honestjohn.co.uk rates the warranty and the car.

The Pro Ceed is awesome to sit it, very high quality interior. The GF is looking at that and the Golf - and it's either base model golf or high end Ceed. Ceed has wayyyy more charisma and the Golf frankly just bores me.

Very impressive.

I'd have a C'eed in a heartbeat TBH.....
