I am considering buying a Multipla.
Can anyone tell me at what mileage the cambelt should be changed?

wont the JTD be chain driven like most diesels are nowadays?? If they are then never!

Perhaps someone could confirm this???

According to the service schedule within the owner's manual it is changed at 72000 miles, or 5 years, whichever comes earlier, and is included in the standard 72K mile service.

You are a braver person than I to wait for 72,000 miles before changing the cam belt on a Fiat, as they are known to go from time to time.

Personally, I would get it done early. I know it is expensive, but I would replace at 36K, 72K, 108K etc. etc. especially if the car does a lot of short journeys.

I waited until 60K on my Punto JTD but only because it was still in warranty (y)

Just changed mine at 42000! Its cheaper than an engine rebuild and no one waits to the reccomendations in the book. Thats what they thought before the cars were in service three years and playing up!!
Vauxhall and Daewoo changed gtheres from 72000 to 40000 after they fund the idler pulleys were playing up!
