Good job nobody jumps on our car like that. 
You really do have to wonder how ****ed the 500 is in the US if they're having to scrape the barrel with a ****ty advertisment like this. Sure it might appeal to a few highly suggestable idiots but it's pushing completely the wrong image for the 500.
When a company has to use a celebrity like this it basically says "Our product is ****, but look at <Insert banal celeb's name here>!!!!!!!"
Inspirational stuff there. Deeply intellectual as well I thought. Well done Fiat.

Surely it is all about raising profile. Not much good using the Alonso advert (which incidentally is just another form of celebrity endorsement) as not many good ol' boys will know who he is - so it makes sense to use someone local, popular and cross-cultural to promote it.
It's a lot better than JLR wheeling out Victoria Beckham and claiming she designed the interior of the Evoque.
Whilst I find the Alonso advert also rather tacky, at least he's famous in a car related field. She's just some women who warbles annoying to annoying music and has a large bum. She's not even that attractive tbh.
To me here is a far better use of a celebrity in an advert.

She's no better looking than loads of other women out there. The difference is that someone spends a good three hours on her face with polyfilla before she appears in an ad or a movie or a music video.

The car is a major part of her new video, I remember when the iPod came out it worked only on a mac and had 5gig of memory and cost hundreds, I had one and everyone laughed at me.. Then J lo had one in her video and then the ipod went mainstream.
