OK, semi sorted the exhaust got a second hand replacement which blows a little but much better than before.

Next issues... the powersteering seems to fight back and have points where it lurchs into corners... is this normal? I'm thinking not... it's my first car with powersteering so i'm not 100% sure it's the cars fault.

secondly the steering and whole car wobbles as it travels... I will double check the wheel bolts in the morning but, is there anything that is known to wear and produce a kind of wobble at all speeds?

thanks

Tony

Hi Tony,
You say the whole car wobbles?? i had the same before i changed my wheels and found out one of the tyres had i bulge in the side wall, As to the steering question the P.A.S should be smooth from lock to lock,
darren..

Hi Tony,

yep that manifold is now on the car. thanks for that.. i can live with the blowing for a while... new one costs @£75 plus fitting so i can wait until it's really embarrasing.

OK, the wobble i got lst time I changed the wheel on the front offside... I went around again after parking tightening again... but the tyres are 165/70/14 and so well a bit rubbish... set of alloys are next on the shopping list ideally with some 185/55/15 on. that should make the corners much more defined.

as for the power steering the vote is still out... hopefully it's just fighting against the wheels.

oh and the hot pipe from the engine casing is not there anymore... is it important?... I didn't think it was really important as the cold air enters the airbox without any filter at that place anyway... it looks like there isn't a filter before it goes into the injection inlet...

hopefully that porters manual will arrive soon.
