When I start my car up in the morning I love the sound it makes at around 1300rpm, because my custom exhaust howls nicely when its sitting at that specific idle rev, but after the oil is warmed up, its lowers and sits at around 800 or 900 rpm and loses that lovely purr that was produced before.

Is there any downfalls to manually adjusting the idle rev to sit at 1100-1300rpm all the time?

Obviously, I realise it will raise my fuel consumption by a little bit, but is there any other major problems?

There's (should be) a screw on the side of the engine that allows you to do it.

I've read about it on the internet. Not sure if Bravo's have this mystery screw though.

Can just adjust the ICV?

Will just wear the engine ever so slightly more, possibly cause you to fail emissions on MOT (more c02 at higher revs) and just generally not be worth the pain for a sound, do it manually with your foot if you fancy.

Well not exactly, they can give you a rough guess as to how loud it will be, but it's impossible to say EXACTLY.

its just a teensy bit quieter than i'd like it to be.

i would of thought it all worked by flyby wire which doesnt have a cable or any adjustments, it would have to be done by the ECU which means a remap prob!"!

Unless you sit outside your house just idling the engine, what's the point?

Most of the time when driving you won't be at tickover (unless you use the M25 to get to work...) so I don't see the point personally.
