who could take a close-up photo of the passengers side inner wing and post it up so I can get a good idea of the contours of it. I'm sure the MK2 is the same but I'd like to be 100% on it.

Here are some pics of the inner wings of my MK 1. It being later it has the washer bottle mounted on the inner wing, but hope this is of help Stuart.
I think they are the same as the MK 2 so you may be able to canibalise a rotten Mk 2.
Hope you decide to continue as it would be a shame for you to lose a rarity.
