The Younger Mrs S. is expecting... :D so I guess I will need a baby seat to go into the back (more often than not) of the car, although I read about turning off the airbag if I'm ever carrying Boromir in the front at the same time as a load of car parts on the back seats. )

Does the Stilo (pre-facelift/2004 spec' JTD but I guess they're all the same) have "Isofix"? What is it? :D

The seats I've looked at seem to have a base with bayonet/clasps on them, presumably so they fit into the seat belt anchors (?) ... and usually also an extendable leg which looks like it has to drop over the front of the seat cushion and rest on the floor. Is that all the strappery/fixing required?

The seat clips to the base and presumably that's that... or should I invest in a cycle helmet or something too?

Congrats mate.

You'll have to have a look at your rear seat and see if it's got the ISOFIX slots in it. I know my leather seats have the slots in them although whether there is anything at the end of them to clip to or not I've never tried. According to my owners manual the cars are ready for ISOFIX seats though and in fact Fiat even did an official ISOFIX seat as an accessory.
