Ok, I am getting my insurance renewed this year. Shopped around and found admiral gave me a good quote! Hmm ok, so though, this is just a case of confirming a few details and paying for it right?

N O!! Apparantly my car has a 903cc engine or a 999cc engine acording to their records. And I cant just agree to one of those as its not true and the insurance could be invalid!
I am just going to assume that my car is now so rare it has been removed from the records! haha!

Is this the car pic'ed below that your trying to insure? I though they only had 903cc engines and it was the 'new'/'facelift' panda which had the 999cc engine?!?

yes my mk1 4x4 below is the one!

No, its even more complicated though lol

1980 - 85 they had:
650 air cooled engine i believe onlye existed on the contenant.
903cc water cooled
965cc (was this the 4x4 and 45 or just the 4x4-really cant think right now)

Then in 1986 they brought in the fire engine series with the following series:

750cc
999cc
903cc OHV engine was kept going

Correct me guys if I am wrong. Cant remember the series they came in now. Mk1 pre 86 had the panda 35, 45, 45s, 4x4
Then Mk2 they had the 750, 1000 and 4x4 (with 999cc engine).
Selecta was also available during the Mk2 series with a 1108cc fire engine.
Cheers

Yeah Si, your engine is the Steyr Puch 965cc OHV engine / Autobianchi A112 engine that Fiat for some reason stuck in the Mk1 4x4 and then shelved for the 999cc engine.

After 86 you got a whole mix of spec and engines with the 750 up till 1992 and the 903cc constantly getting deleted and then put back in the range all the time. You got 999cc selectas and then the 999cc 4x4 engine gave 5bhp more than the 4x2 engine cause of the different cam

Like if you compare it to a Mini that only had about 3 different sizes of the same engine over 40 odd years, no wonder you insurance company can't get it right when you've such a mix of engines in one little car! Bloody Italians!:D
