Hi there

i was wondering if theres is anything i can do with this situation i have.

I left my car parked outside a set of shops only to return to it with a great big dunt out of the passenger side.

I went straight to the police who informed me that they would probably not find out who it was and that i should get the damage fixed and forget all about it.

i am only insured 3rd party f&f is there anything i can do.

possibley claim the council for it, I just dont know

any advice would be great

Danny

some smelly **** did the same to me, but he works at my work and has admitted to doing it, said he wud pay but is just messing me around, i am only 3rd party but have mods undeclared so i cant go through incurance!

you may as well not bother insuring!

Nothing you can do, fact of life, have a good rant on here once you've paid for the repairs, it will make you feel much better!

its probably too late but did you think about cctv evidence. go back to where it happened and look carefully for cameras. find the owner and ask for a look at the tape. bingo legal evidence. worth a try

I've got 4 car park dings.
Unless you have witnesses, TFS, I'm afraid.

it was in my staff car park with cctv evidence, but like i said, mods are uninsured so thers nowt i can do!

the thing is, i cant learn from my lesson as i have tried and tried to get fully comp with all mods declared but they said that they wunt insure me cos it wud b too much!

'Illiterate ****wit in driving uninsured non-shocker'.

FFS! Just a shame the car hadn't been written off, taking the owner with it - I pay enough for my insurance without having a percentage extra whacked on because of people like that.

who u callin a ****wit! i am insured as 3rd party! im trying to get insured fully comp u tart, but they wont

and i think at 1800 hundred im paying enough as it is too! i wud neva go uninsured and like i sed, ive tried many times but they wont insure me, so 2rd party it is!

NO you are not insured third party, you have not declared your mods rendering your insurance void and yes you are a ****wit!!!

Forgive me for pointing out the blatantly obvious, but if you removed the mods, you could have insured fully comp and not had the worries you now enjoy.

Surely, your priority is to insure the vehicle and all it's modifications. If you apply mods that can't be insured or restrict your ability to insure the entire vehicle fully comp, you only have yourself to blame. Sorry, but it's simply the facts.

ok, i apologise for insulting anyone, BUT i am only 18 (i aint tryin to get sympathy) and at what seems to me the only appropriate age to modify a car, i aint gonna miss out on that chance, and as SOON as i can get insured with all my mods, i will do so, no doubt about it. i think ppl think that cos i have a modded car i drive round at 100 mph, well i dont, i stick to the speed limits, i no this dunt take away the fact of the matter...

the car is insured.
Third party fire and feft, apparently. :)

No one here is saying anything along the lines of "young driver, must be a ****". But you come on here stating you have a car, with modifications that are not declared and expect sympathy because you've been twatted and can't do anything about it, so what did you expect ??

We all know how hard it is to get started in life, especially with your car, but why did you find it necessary to buy a car, spend your money on "modifications" and then realise you can't insure it properly ? As Lozz said, due to your non declaration of the mods, you have wasted the £1800 you have spent on insurance as it is null and void. Insurance companies will jump at the chance of not having to pay out.

Add that to the fact that had YOU been the one causing damage or injury, the victim would have got nothing because of your lack of insurance and I think there is justification for the opinions held about you.

As for "being 18" and not wanting to miss out on the time in your life when it is acceptable to modify your car, what a lot of ******. There are people here in their 30's who still do it. Where is the law that says you have to get it all out of your system before you turn 21 ??

What you need to be doing at your age is learning your driving craft, making sure that you can handle a car in all conditions and situations before blowing your wages (or mummy and daddy's hand outs) on a K&N or a Meccano spolier.

Get your priorities right. Learn your lesson and move on. Get insured so that the rest of us who are decent, honest, law abiding insurance payers don't end up paying through the nose to compensate for people like you.
