Hi, I have a 2007 Grande Punto which was purchased used. Still getting to know it...

While changing the oil, I was looking around the engine bay and noticed some white/pink gunk on the right side of the engine. I have uploaded a picture to help identify the substance.

Does anyone know what this could be? Can I / should I remove it?

I presume that it must be something used for sealing but I would like to identify the issue linked to it.

Thanks for your help

Looks like you’ve got/had a coolant leak, the pink gunk is antifreeze. You could try cleaning it off and then looking again a few days after which may help you see which hose or whatever it maybe is weeping. Keep your eye on your coolant level as somethings obviously leaking
