General Idea window wipers

unfortuantely my wipers on the front have stopped working properly. at first they work most times when i first start the car up apart from the one wipe up-press that i have to hold or it stops straight away as soon as i let go of the lever and this can be anywhere on the windscreen. it then stops working completely most journeys and the only way to get it working is to turn the engine off and on (the universal cure for problem technology) but after a bit it stops again.
i assume it is the motor but is this simple to replace or does it need computer work at the same time?

motor can be changed without additional work.

cheers t14986, any idea(not intentional) where best to buy one? and would you have any opinion if it sounds that this is the case?

you would really need to test the supplies at the motor,if they are ok the motor at fault if not switch/wiring/body computer.

any recommendations for where to get the front wiper motor apart from fiat as they are quoting £133 exc vat? i live in birmingham uk

i have now found one from 247 spares that directed me to a dismantler and is £61 inc vat and p&p used part. fiat wanted £133 ext vat!
can anyone point me in the right direction with regards to how to install it?
