Hi all - the hydraulic clutch needs adjusting/bleeding as it sometimes refuses to fully release and graunches into reverse. Before I dive in and have a play, I hoped someone might have some experience of this. I can see what looks to be a bleed nipple on the slave cylinder at the clutch end, but no obvious flats for undoing for bleeding. The service manual claims it's a cable release, but they're wrong!

Any info appreciated.

Mike.

I doubt it needs just bleeding! Are there any visible leaks? Pull back the seal on the slave and check for leaks. A very common fault on the multipla is the master cylinder spring breaking, but this will leave the pedal on the floor. Does the pedal sit in line with the brake?

A known problem...yes its probably the master cylinder spring gone. Is there about 3/4 of an inch of free play before you feel any pressure?
Well documented...cyls are about 26 quid but it is possible but I am not sure if advisable to replace the bits from within the car without removing the cylinder!
