The velcro on the Fiat supplier car mats that go in the rear of our 500 makes a great job of shredding the carpet underneath, but a rubbish job of keeping the mats in place when my two holligans get in and out. Yhe mats are always all over the shop.

Has anyone found a way of securing them more effectively and holding them still (the rear mats that is, not my kids)?

PS I don't really care that much - I'm just complying with Maxi's demands for new threads...

I didn't have dealer supplied mats, but I found the carpet mats I had to be very much the same. Moved over to a good quality set of heavy Michelin rubber mats and they don't move at all.

P.S That feels better......

I feel I should apologize right at the start for my breathtaking immaturity and utterly stupid and pointless post, but from a man who by choice has no children, I can only suggest you do:

A. Take affirmative action to secure your children once in the vehicle
B. Don't allow your children to enter the vehicle, make them use alternative forms of transport, such as their own legs.
C. Get some spray glue that carpet fitters use for domestic/commercial use.

Alright used that non slip meshed rubber thinggy, cut to fit under the mats, the front ones in my case. Good luck and all that :)

Ah now I am actually getting interested. Anyone know if/where you can still get this stuff?

And do you glue it to the mat or does it stay unattached and just grip between the mat and the carpet all by itself?
