Hi all,

Is is okay to high rev the car in a while? Not always but like once a week/2 weeks or so?

What are your experiences regarding this? Any long term issues?

For me, i went up to 7500 rpm all the gears on the track and no issues yet. 1st gear went up to 60 kmph :D  All the carbon deposited got burnt off and the few rust areas in the exhaust got off leaving the exhaust with holes :D :D :p

Also what i have experienced is that when i shift gears on a normal rpm range, say like 3500 rpm the exhaust note doesn't change, but when i change gears say like 5000+ rpm then the exhaust gives a meaner sound, which i love :slayer: . This is the stock exhaust i have, no modifications or exhaust leaks are there. Any experience on these different exhaust noises?

It will obviously shorten the life of some of the engine components, revving it out to 7500 is fairly useless as the engine won't be making much power that high up and at such high RPM's you may get valve float which could result in valves hitting pistons (n)

I recently decided to work out where my Punto red lines, rather than WOT I accelerated gently at part throttle, it ran up to just over 7000 before I bottled as I didn't want to damage engine, it was a one time experiment which I don't intend to repeat, the engine in my Punto is useless beyond 5000rpm anyway.

mine has power from 3500+ rpm up to 6500, acceleration is smooth as butter, anw i also went only one time up to 7500
