General High revs.

Please can anyone help. I have a 94 panda 1000 fire which runs fine when cold but when warm and on daily stop start trip to work of about 6 miles by the time i get to work the revs are way above normal idle as if the throttle is stuck open a bit, cleaned throttle cable connection to carb but no difference. Any ideas . Car has only done 49,000. Many thanks

is it injection ?

beacuse mine did that a couple of times while the alternator was breaking.
it some wierd ECU confusion sometimes.

take the air box off just to chek its not stuck open.

Are you slowly pushing the choke in as the engine gets warmer?

auto choke - only does it when it gets hot in stop start conditions

Check for air leaks around the induction. These can cause higher revs at tickover. Otherwise it might be an ecu or sensor problem?

I recon its a sensor, mine on revs up and down on start up when very cold (- temps) and only for a few secs.

How hot is it when it does this?

How about an ECU reload. You can do a series of actions which resets the ECU. Perhaps if you tried this you could narrow it down a little. Mine had a similar problem and a combination of doing this followed up by checking and adjusting the timing periodically kept it in check.
