Technical High revs when changing gears

I have just purchased a Multijet Sport diesel at the weekend and am loving the drive and the vehicle but am a little concerned with one thing.

When I change up a gear i.e. put my foot down on the clutch (after lifting off accelerator) the revs go up before the gear is engaged by taking my foot back off of the cluth.

At first I thought that maybe I wasn't fully taking my foot off the accelerator when changing gears thereby causing the increased revs. But obviously as I am conscious of this problem, I am absolutely making sure I have totally removed my foot from the accelerator before putting my foot down on the clutch, but the revs still go up before I take my foot off of the clutch and engage the higher gear.

Is this normal or can anyone give me a clue to what the problem may be ?

I will have a go on the way home and report back. Is it jumping a lot or a bit?

Its only jumping a bit but its enough to draw my attention to the rev counter to make sure its not going off the scale and you can hear the engine strain a bit.

It seems to happen more when changing up in low gears.

I am now leaving my foot off of the accelerator for a couple of seconds before engaging the clutch and changing gear which doesn't feel natural and certainly doesn't enable you to accelerate quickly up through the gears if you want to.

No don't believe so as MSR appears to be something experienced when down-shifting to prevent wheel locking when decelerating, but I am experiencing this when up-shifting on acceleration so wheel locking wouldn't occur under these conditions.
