My car has been making this noise for awhile, it's mainly when I'm in stop start traffic, once I've then passed the traffic and put my speed up it's fine, also I stopped on the hill the other day and a really strange kind of gurgling noise was happening and I wasn't sure what that was either, can somebody help please?

The squealing could be either the alternator belt is loose or the timing belt is slipping on it's tensioner. Another possibility is the bearings in the alternator or the cooling fan. Simple test is to remove the alternator belt and run the car for a bit to see if it goes away. Gurgling could be air in the coolant system which will need topping up and bleeding and the leak found and fixed.
