Ducato Hi, just buying a Ducato II based camper van, my first camper and first Fiat so thought I should do a bit of homework!

We have now purchased our camper

Well let me be the first to congratulate you on your purchase . They are an excellent vehicle , and will give many years of service , if taken care off . Older vehicles do need a little extra care than the newer models , but to mitigate that are often simpler and easier to work on . One of the first areas i would strongly suggest to take a look at , is the rear suspension , as you have a Alko chassis . Now this is a little outside my of my remit , because i have a standard Fiat chassis , so i can't help too well here .
However , i have heard of people having problems with the rear trailing arms seizing . Now going off memory , this appears to be due to a lack of grease on the pivot pins , But here i can't go much further . I would examine the upper rear arms , and try to locate any grease nipples that may be fitted . I would suspect there are two , but at the very least there should be one , somewhere in the immediate area of the pin itself . Once checked , and filled if necessary i would then ensure some new rubber grease caps are fitted , to prevent the nipples themselves seizing . But here i'm afraid i can't advise any further , in regard to what grease to use , or how to go about the job . I simply don't have that system .
It seems over here that Fiat won't touch these areas , as the chassis is not a Fiat product . So the system goes dry , until it seizes , giving a very harsh ride .

Yes i have a rear window as well , and the same problem . In the main i only use it for loading the hang gliders , i do have a rear kitchen so it's good for ventilation , but for driving , nah

When it stops raining i will shuffle under the back and have a look for those grease nipples', last year at a 'vide grenier' (car boot sale) i picked up a bulk grease dispenser for tractors and general agri stuff that came fully loaded with grease for just 10 Euros! So i have the equipment just need the nipples so to speak!

I'm not saying you will have a problem , but it is something i've heard about from others on another forum , i used to be on . I think a look is in order at the very least . Got my fingers crossed for you . If you have the equipment , you obviously know what you're looking for , and how to deal with it .

Hello again!
Still, trying to fit my reversing camera screen, plan A failed as i needed to drop the screen and then the antenna fouled the rear view mirror!
Plan B is to use the supplied bracket screwed to the roof liner, however I would like to put something behind for the self tapping screws to bite into.
However I cannot at the moment remove the back of the interior light housing, there is some form of cam arrangement but I cant see what it does!
one side certainly is cliped over the edge of the liner but the other side is different but the lugs appear too long to be pulled back and over the lip, anyone any ideas please?
Photo attached, i'm sure this is now getting technical and should be posted somewhere else but not sure where!
