Actually wife`s car but I`ve always maintained our vehicles..........really interested to know about the intricate workings of the Dualogic system. There seems to be little factual knowledge of what actually fails (no doubt I will get to experience this!)

On one of the Car programs on TV I have seen a specialist in the UK does Selespeed changers for under a £1000. I an going to see if I can identify them as I am sure a dualogic would be easy stuff for them to repair. If I found a reliable repairer I would have a dualogic box in an instant. Clearly there is nothing difficult to those that have the facilities and the parts.

I don’t get all the fuss I have diologic. Love it. It slipped into neutral just as a bulb went out. I changed the bulb it’s been faultless. I read that electrical minor faults can cause gear change to neutral. After all it is electrical. There’s a chap in stoke who does a replacement for £750 fitted and guaranteed. Plus change both oils in box every 20,000 no matter what anybody tells you.i love the duologic.
That`s reassuring. The only slightly weird thing that has happened so far is that ,if heavy accelleration, it will stick in 2nd or 3rd gear but if quickly knocked into manual and manually upchanged it`s OK. I suspect it`s confusing itself with maybe throttle pedal position i.e kick down. Normal sedate driving it`s perfect.

Yes I get that it seems to change when lifting off throttle slightly. I presume it thinks you want to go uphill etc. or under load. To be fair my friend spent a lot on Vw Tiguan auto 12 month warranty. After warranty ran out he needed a new gearbox auto. £2400 only done 56,000 miles. Autos are autos with all electric gubbins etc but true auto. I love the little duologic especially twinned with twinair

There’s a chap in stoke area who exchanges or rebuilds yours same day £700-800 apparently he’s the man. Great reviews. He advertises on eBay. Warranty given. He reckons be there at 8am your on your way by 3pm.

I suspect its a combination of mechanical understanding / sympathy from new and good maintenance. I guess there are an awful lot of totally unmaintained dualogics about and being a quite high tech thing thats not great.
