Good evening,
After owning and driving big Volvo's (740, 940 and V70) for the last 10 years, just yesterday I have purchased my 2011 Fiat Panda 1.2 Active. This is not my first Panda, in 2005 I owned my first and only new carto this point: a Fiat Panda 1.2 Dynamic.
As these big Volvo's have always been our 'second' car, meaning that I was in them alone for 90% of the time, I recently decided to get rid of my latest Volvo and switch to a small(er) car. Based upon sweet memories from back in the day (or does time really heal all wounds?) there was really only one option for me: A Fiat Panda of the 169 generation.
At age 53, cars are still much more than a mobility solution to me. I even dare to say that I am suffering from moderitis. Therefor this Panda will be my project car on a small budget. I have no ambition of making something out of it that it isn't, but I have the ambition to get all out that it has in it.
As I only got the car yesterday no modifications have been made yet, but a remap of the ECU will be scheduled tomorrow and I suspect that Eibach lowering springs will be mounted pretty soon after that. Furthermore my first priority is to give the car a good cleaning and make sure the car is in good mechanical condition.
When I purchased the car there was an issue with it of which I suspect that it isn't anything major but I could use some advice on it. I will open a seperate post to discuss that.
