Hi All

I'm new to this site as I only bought my fiat 2 weeks ago, it's an old tipo and what I thought was well worth the money. Sadly now the alternator has died on it and I need to find out how to change it? Any ideas?
My husband has been puzzling over how to get to the alternator for almost a week now and is still non the wiser :bang: I would be most grateful if anyone has an info on this.

Kindest Regards

Janine

Hi Janine,

Welcome to the forum! I hope someone here can help you with your question. Before we can, which Tipo do you have? Year and engine should be enough.

edit: Seems Janine has been busy since she joined... in the social group and started a garage too! Take note the rest of ya!

So, we have a 1.6 sx 1994. I've not played with a 1.6 before but I'm sure someone will know how to get to the altenator.

from memory the alternator is held on by two bolts, one you adjust the position of to adjust it, and the other is the pivot bolt, best way to get to it is to be able to get under the drivers side.

however the liberty has A/C and probably PAS, so not entirely sure how it looks under there. be worth taking out the wheel arch liner, which is held on by 3 or 4 screws (with bolt heads) you should be able to see much more that way.
