Technical Handbrake overheating?

I've had my silver B for 6 years and its a great car but for the rear wheels which have been a constant cause of irritation. Its back from the garage with new handbrake cable and pads following a handbrake jam, and smoking wheel. Took it out for a short trip to find the wheel squealing and the rear disks too hot to touch.

Is this a known problem? The handbrake has causes various problems over the years. Are hot plates and sqealing to be expected after new pads?

not really,take it back for a check over.
are the wheels quite a bit hotter compared to the front wheels after a drive?

The front wheels are as cool, it was quite a short drive, just a few miles. Thanks, Pt

somethings not right then if the rears are hot.back to whoever did the work me'thinks

Could be that the caliper has siezed and they have fixed the wrong thing?
