Technical Ham fists strikes again! Any ideas?

Today I attempted to change my door locks, to aquamarine instructions (which I can't fault by the way, made the whole thing much easier) but alas! I've broken the white balljoint! Any ideas on what I can do to remedy this? I was just too rough on trying to pull it off unfortunetly. Failing a diy bodge does anyone know where I could get one?

Don't beat yourself up, some of those link rods get very brittle and break easily, I've done it once too .

I don't think you can bodge a repair. Let me see if I have one tomorrow, will PM you if I have.

Have done it too many times. Pretty sure I have a spare, will check this eve. David

I should be able to provide a decent replacement also if needs be, accidents happen to the best of us and I am in no doubt that the same would happen if I had to do that job with my club hands!

Ahh you won't be the first and I doubt very much you'll be the last - I do love a successful bodge though, especially if it involves zip ties, gaffer tape and tiger seal

Cameron, found one: on it's way in the morning. If it's any consolation I bust a carb cut off solenoid over-tightening it earlier, and that's metal. Oops.

As a quick note on plastic as I work in the plastic industry (injection moulding) an electric hot ait gun or hairdyer can help just to make plastic flexible again.
A bit like hot water going through a very stiff hose pipe.
Just don't overdo it or you will melt it

Thanks for the tip, I would normally do this as well as I gave this advice to someone else on the forum the other day! I dont know why I didnt to be honest
