Dear forum,

I have a Fiat 500, bought it new...
- From December 2022.
- 3 cyl. 1.0 51kw (70 hp).
- 6 speed gearbox manual transmission.
- Now it has 35.000 km.

I really like the car, but I want to transition to a larger car or a mini-van... however, I was considering keeping the 500 for going to work and running errands. It's a beautiful car, easy to park and very fuel efficient, so it is perfect for these things. These would be around 15.000km a year. And using the mini-van only for when its needed, weekends with the family, and traveling. If that is the case, I would also want to get the increased warranty that the dealership told me about.

But I am not sure if I can afford keeping the 500 if it's going to give me problems with the mechanics.
I am concerned about the general reliability of the car. I was wondering if you guys have information about the known issues or common problems that this car has, specially the engine.

Unfortunately, I was not able to find information about the general reliability, only posts asking it in 2022, when it was too early to know.

From my side, I have not encounter any big problem with the car yet, only small suspicions that can maybe turn into problems in the future:
- One day the screen of the radio/android auto went black, and it was all day black, but the next day started working again. No issues since then.
- When I park the car on uphill after some driving, I can hear a bubbling noise from my seat, in the engine. Happened since day 1, but it just a noise.
- Sometimes I can feel some very very subtle jerking when I accelerate, as if the injection was not very refined. Worries me a lot when it happen, but I do not know if its normal or not.

Many thanks to everybody in this forum. Its a great place.
Before the 500 I had a 1.2 2000 Punto, and this forum was very helpful with the guides and advice that you guys gift here. Thanks <3

Now at 6 years. 2 recent after market warranies were £175 and £375 each year. Ifthe car isgiven TLC and service I would putthe money on one side and forget the warrranty. My dealer coyld extend my warranty at 5 years old for £600 for 1 year. Im now £600 in pocket!
