Technical Gearbox grounding point pin

What is purpose of this metal pin on gearbox near ground wire in Punto mk2b?
Is it only to keep wire from not to turn when tightening ground wire nut?
I snapped it while removing ground wire.

Yes, it's exactly that.
And probably the shape of the mould making the gearbox.

Thank you. So no need to loan paperglue from my wifes crafting drawer to glue it back.
Do you have any idea why ground cable have such weird angled connector? I made new one with regular straight connector as I wasn't able to find angles one. Straight connector fits there almost better than original angled one.

No, no need to paperglue it...
I have no idea about the angle, obviously something determined it when they first made it then... no one bothered to make it better!
That's exactly what I did, new cables with regular connector rings. I made 2 cables with rings overlapping on the connection point on the chassis. It's much better than the original!

What if you need to turn in anticlockwise and the ground cable turns with the bolt?

Well... you grab it with a tool and don't let it!

Plus... if you turn the nut CCW there, on first twist it looses grip on that ring. So... absolutely no problem!
