Gear stick

Occasionaly the gear stick of my 2007 Bravo goes really stiff, and a couple of times I haven't been able to put it in to reverse at all!!!

I took the cover off, and checked that there is no problem with the lever that you pull up to move the stick over enough to get reverse. But something is stopping it from actually going into the gear. Can anyone help?

The reverse has no syincro ring, so in order to get it right in, you need to stop the car from moving, wait a couple of seconds till the engine rpms calm down and then shift to reverse. Also do a gear oil change.
