Hi, I did a quick search and could not find a thread that related to my problem, so I am attempting to create a new one...

The problem is that I broke down, couldn't start the motor (and it wasn't immediately apparent that the battery was dead), so I went to check the fuses. Unfortunately it was dark and I'm pretty sure I put a fuse in the wrong place, because now my high-beams don't work. When I go to switch on the highbeams I get nothing. I have attached a pic of the fusebox and would very much appreciate any help anyone can give!

Btw I had circled the yellow 20 amp fuse as I was trying to install a lighter socket but I don't even care about that right now, I'd just like to be able to use my high beams.

I can't work out your picture compared to the handbook & I'm not going outside at this time!

Have you checked the fuses per the owners handbook? It's on pages 147-150 if you've got the 2007 print? If you don't have a copy just download it from this website - if you take it out to the car, you shouldn't have any issues comparing what you've done to the handbook layout. (y)

Thanks for the response. Yes I have checked on the handbook. Unfortunately it seems that the larger red fuses aren't labelled and so I can't decipher which of these does what. I suppose I could start by pulling these out and trying them in other slots but I don't want to make my problem worse or do any damage

I've certainly learned my lesson though, in future I would ensure I had a torch and took a pic of the fuses before I start messing about with them ;)

The fuse (and relay) numbers are moulded into the grey plastic under each fuse (and relay). Your picture is too low resolution to see the numbers, but they are visible in this picture of a Panda diesel fuse box.

On your photo, the main beam fuse should be at top left - 15 amp. Blue top.
If you had aircon, there would be a 7.5 amp fuse in the remaining slot above it.
Looks to me as though you have your fuse in the correct slot, which is not what you really want to hear is it?
Presume the fuse has been checked as ok?

The "big red fuses" are relays and they should be in the right place too.
Time to compare pictures (or swap relays around and see what stops working if they are all in the right place).
And remember that fuses that look ok can still have hairlinecracks or poor contact.

Completely unrelated other than the fact that it's about another Cadbury product (like the forgotten Fuse bar).

1. Boost's are now like 75% of their proper size

2. Crème eggs now come in 5 packs rather than 6

WTf is that all about? A&E waiting lists I expect.

The 3 pin white connector looks like the cigar lighter wiring. It should have power (possibly only with ignition), earth and illumination.

According to the Panda handbook, fuse F85 (20 amp) in the engine fuse box is for the cigar lighter. Can't see form your picture whether your fuse box has the female connectors for the fuse to plug into though.
.

I'll try the plug from my '04 active..,

didn't want to risk any shorts, etc  but if it's the same plug I'll try that:worship:

I'll add to the GUIDE if / when I make progress ;)
