Hello Fiat lovers,

I searched for guides on the three Fiat sites (the States, here, and Canada) and found nothing to provide guidance on the project in the title. I have the facelift dash, wiring harness, speedo, and radio (with code) ready to go in. Is this even possible? How can I complete this successfully?

I appreciate your considered response.

However, I'm not sure this is wise and none of the commercially available third party radios with screens impress me. Truth be told I need to commission an engineer to design something I can live with if the upgrade fails. I hope to later integrate a Raspberry Pi for functions like foot well lighting, OBD diagnostics, maintenance logs, etc.

Cheers,
Procure

P.S. If your post reply helps out getting over the hurdles, I will buy you a coffee after you put up an account with https://buymeacoffee.com/ and then edit your post to reflect your coffee name status.

This might help but it looks like an awful lot of work just to get an aftermarket radio fitted?

I remember reading somewhere that you need to cut away some metal parts to make the new dashboard fit.
If you car has climate control, that will increase difficulty because the actuators behind the dashboard.

How we are progressing this far. Next hurdle is steering wheel air bag removal.

Sorry for the delay in replying, my account seemed to have lapsed and I wasn't able to comment.

This would be something I would love to try but it scares me somewhat.I know you said you had the loom, but to what extent? As many of the systems in the car are controlled by the BCM, I'm wondering whether you would need to change that too. The only issue of course, is the stereo. I wonder if you were to install an Android stereo of which there are some very nice ones for the facelift without blocking the vents, this may be easier to do as the BCM can just be told the stereo isn't here any more. Whether you can get the steering buttons to work is another matter.

I also wonder about the metalwork under the dash, is it different? I've never changed a dash in a facelift although I've done many pre-facelift ones. It would be interesting to try. Maybe something for the Love 500 Youtube channel in the future, but would potentially be a long drawn out process.

Any thoughts anyone else on this?

Any progress with dash replacement? On facebook I found a 2010 pop that has been upgraded inside and outside as 2022 type abarth with the uconnect radio and new typ steering wheel. I’m trying to get in touch with the owner.

It has been a wile since there was any reaction on this topic.
Just to start to see if uconnect radio does communicate on the old pre facelift system. Did someone tested this?
I know for example that there will be some communication. If you upgrade with new type TFT odo/tacho, you can use an uconnect radio to change time and date on the newer TFT cluster.

It's something I still plan to do in the future. I do have a facelift stereo which works so if I happen to get hold of a loom I will try it before installing the new dash. Hopefully something for 2025.

I was just searching on the dutch marketplace to find a cheap uconnect 5 for testing. But those are all without code. Is it hard to obtain the code for such a radio?
