Hi everyone To gain access to rear seats I lifted the lever on the back rest of the drivers side front seat ( to tilt the seat) the back rest will not click back into position although seat relocates on the adjustable back/front rack. Haynes manual only shows seat removal.
Can anyone help? is it a broken cable or something else.

I am not sure I understand the question? do you mean the seat will locate on the rails that moves the whole seat forwards and back but the back rest won't click back into place?

it is likely to just be dirt in the mechanism. I believe there is a cable that runs from the handle on the shoulder of the seat, down to the mechanism, but if that breaks then you wouldn't be able to release the seat. I don't think it would stop it clicking back. I suppose make sure the handle is pushed back into the lock position on the top of the seat in case its not pushing all the way back allowing it to lock.

Under the base there's a small mechanism that sticks, it'll need a bit of grease. If you put both seats forward & move the lever up & down, you'll be able to see the one that's moving freely vs the one that's stuck.
