hi all just need feedback from guys wo are using fiatecuscan is it worth buying and any pitfalls regards Baz,(y)

I'll clearly state that I am a moderator on the MultiECUScan Forum just so you can all be aware of my status and not come back at me saying I'm biased.

Firstly check http://www.multiecuscan.net/SupportedVehiclesList.aspx

Does MultiECUScan support your car *AND* all the modules/nodes/ecus you wish to gain access to?

1) I've used FiatECUScan from day 1 through to MultiECUScan
2) Currently use MultiECUScan
3) As a forum moderator I have seen many problems and issues raised, however the bulk/majority of these issues have been related to crap Chinese ELM devices
4) Genuine software problem have been found, reported and do get *eventually* fixed
5) A valued competitor to MultiECUScan is AlfaOBD which also (like MultiECUScan) covers Fiat models and also supports Key Programming which MultiECUScan does not. MultiECUScan only support remote fob programming and the lack of key programming support has been often criticised. Lack of this support does have a valid reason.
6) I've not personally used AlfaOBD so can not really comment on it any further other than to say it also has a good reputation.
7) I suggest you personally do a side by side review/comparison of MultiECUScan/AlfaOBD and any other product, like Delphi, etc.
8) Delphi, Autel (http://www.gendan.co.uk/product_DS708CL.html) and other PRO solutions are going to cost you over £1000.

Hope this helps.

If you have a specific question the I'll try to answer it but you may be better off posing any questions on the MultiECUScan forum (http://forum.multiecuscan.net/) where there are plenty of experienced users (private and trade) who will most certainly respond. Also do the same on the AlfaOBD forum.

If you live locally to me (Southampton) then I'm more than happy to demo MultiECUScan on your car (assuming it is suppoted). At least this way you will get a hands on feel and be able to make your own judgements.

Nick

I have to back this up. (y)

I've used FES -- and now MES -- on both my Mk2 Punto and Mk3 Panda with no problems whatsoever. Also -- at the last Midlands Italia meet -- dombooth and I basically worked our way through a long row of FIATs (including Mk2 Puntos, Grande Puntos, and a 500 convertible...), with no problems whatsoever (using all the multi-coloured adapters, etc.) -- apart from me not having the correct lead on me (it was at home) to connect to the airbag module on an early Mk2 Punto. :)

For the price, it is amazingly powerful, competent and complex (yet simple to use) software; and, IMHO, is very hard to beat.... :worship:
