Technical fiat uno petrol pump am seeking help

i put in a new petrol pump[ just the pump] in to my fiat, when you turn on ignition, you will hear it buzz, but then it stops, i have checked and there is no petrol getting through can any one help, please

It might be the wiring or relay at fault. What was wrong with the original pump?

when the car stopped working, took to local car repairer, who managed to clean pump out and the car run for 8 weeks all ok, then the car stopped again i had to call rac out, after going through the car i was told that it was the petrol pump, so new petrol pump is in and not staying on,

just to let you all know, pump is now working, when i put it in i did not have it parallel with the float [petrol ] chamber, thanks for your help
