So i was due on timing belt service and broke while driving, timing belt and water pump replaced but no compression, now cylinder head must be rebuild
as far as i known my car has an 1.4 fire 16v starjet, so i was wondering if its possible to replace it with a cylinder head from any 1.4 fire 16v non-starjet or if i can use pieces from non-starjet engine to rebuild mine

since fiat cars are not broad sold in my country im looking for options

Thank you so much and great forum

So I did some research
Seems like I can take any valve from a multi air engine and put in mine
But I was offered a whole engine head from a 2007 fiat grande punto which seems has the same 1.4 fire starjet but with a little bit of nm/rpm difference from mine
My engine nm/rpm is supposedly:
27/4500 nm/rpm
And the starjet from grande punto is:
25/4500 nm/rpm

So I’ll have an issue with those differences?
Is swap possible?
Or it’s better to rebuild my original valve system

OK so...
I disassembled the engine but now im now stuck with the cylinder head, it´s bolts doesnt move, ive tried different bits to remove them but no luck , i´ve tried ribe 8mm and torx t50 but both deformed, broke or bent
wich kind of bit should i use?

thanks and regards

Hi jack thanks for your reply
So i’ll be using Torx t50 for this
Any recommended brand?
Greetings
I don't know what size it is, the correct size is a very close fit into the bolt, it is easy to accidentally try one size too small.
I see you are in Mexico so cannot recommend a brand as I'm in Europe.
May be worth trying an impact gun with impact rated bit correct size.

I’ll get a good brand bit and try if bolts come out

Success!!!
so since i was unable to find a reliable brand for bits i had to remove those bolts with a bolt extractor, a cheap one (25usd) was able to do the job

So im probably replacing all 16 valves, anything else should i check?

Thanks and greetings

Valve guide/s could be split
Piston rings need to be checked to make sure they are free to move in their grooves.

Hi dear forum members
So i removed some valves and some guides look like this

This mean i have to take the head to a machine shop and let tem replace those guides?
Here is a photo of a guide that i think looks good

Greetings

So
Seemingly guides are ok so I’m about to wash and remove all carbon an do the valve job
I bought all 16 valves
So I’ll keep you posted with images of new valves in place
