hi howsit i need some help....my fiiat uno 1.1 fire is overheating and i dont know what could be the problem....secondly i dont know how to set the timing also...please anyone to assist...highly appreciated

Hello,

Things to check and confirm:

- presence of coolant in the system (what is it? water? or water / alcohol mixture?)
- fan blower working (eventually the fuse / relay)
- water pump + belt
- thermostat functionnality

In which conditions is the car overheating?

I don't know if you know the principle ot the car cooling system, if not - get to know and understand it, it will allow you to diagnose a little bit further.

thanx alot brother....there is coolant.....fan comes on but very seldom not like before...water pump is now always looking wet i dnw why......when i bought the car it didn't have a thermostat i installed one......so il check what u said i should..hopefully i come right

Thermostat is the part that controls the coolant temperature and changes the circulation. I can't imagine a car engine without one.

And the water pump shouldn't be wet on the outside!

There's an overflow reservoir in the cooling system. Is there enough fluid? Perhaps the system needs bleeding?

yes the thermostat was present but not functional...i have cold air in the ventalition system but no heater...maybe its blocked...welsh plugs started giving in to

as mentioned bleed the system properly - check if there is circulation through the heater hoses. Matrix could be blocked, but with the other symptoms it sounds like you may have a head gasket issue.. you should only need to bleed once.. make sure there is circulation through the radiator - to prove the water pump is pumping and if there is, but still overheating, pressure test the cooling system or do a CO test to confirm if there is a head gasket issue..
