Just acquired a 2014 Fiat Abarth 500 with a selespeed gear issue. Car had a stored code P2917 although it goes into gear and drives fine. However when changing down manually from 5 it goes straight to 2nd but don't know if this is normal or not?

The main issue is when end of line calibration is completed, it leaves an error message saying "plausibility error during engage 5th gear"

Checked the fluid, that's all fine, completed clutch bleed etc.

Now working out what to do next? Is it likely to be something physical like the actual clutch or Clutch slave cylinder or something else? Strange that each time it says 5th gear

I've resolved issues on the normal Fiat 500 by just changing a clutch and on the 500l by replacing the concentric slave cylinder but never come across this error during end of line calibration.

Hi, I spoke with a specialist and he said gearbox needs repair so I've sent it to them.

What's the issue with yours, do you have the codes and what model fiat 500 is it?

Hey, i have a 2008 500 with selespeed cfc328, the issue is after removing & reinstalling the gearbox to change the crankshaft seal, the car wont engage 4th gear, RN123 working normally, as soon as the time comes to go in 4th gear, it goes into Neutral, either auto either manual mode. When i perform End of Line calibration same thing happens, it wont select 4th gear and at the end it shows " calibration unsuccesful 3rd-4th selection error" . Any idea what could be the issue? So far i replaced the clutch kit & fork with bushes, and also rebuild the robot with seals repair kit, without any success. Thanks in advance!
 
Clearly a fault inside the gearbox itself mate, you'll need to replace it or send for repair.
 
No worries, apparently there's a common fault with a part that lifts up inside the box and it gets stuck
 
But there's also the position sensor on the slave cylinder ,that could be faulty too but it's weird yours is only 4th gear
 
which part should i be looking for? another guy told me about the synchro of 3rd-4th gear may have fallen out of place.
I don't know mate, I've just left it to CE motors in stoke as it's more a specialist job and not worth risking getting it wrong

Hey again, so i dropped the gearbox, dissasembled everything, all looking fine inside, the selector was in place, reassembled it still the same fault when performing end of line calibration, wont select 4th gear... any advice?
