General Fiat 238 weinsberg 1980

Hello everybody,

First of all, I am sorry I don't speak english very well...

My name is Kévin, 26 years old, I live in France near Bordeaux. South west of France.

There is around 2 months I bought a FIAT 238 camper.
I have a passion for old VOLKSWAGEN (beetle, bay window, etc..)

I wanted a VOLKSWAGEN BAY window WESTFALIA to take advantage of the week-ends with my wife and my daughter.
Unfortunately, the prices for VOLKSWAGEN are currently very expensive.

One day, I saw by hazard a FIAT 238 1980 WEINSBERG, in state of origin correct.

I don't have pictures for the moment, only one below :

I am going to restore it this winter.
The target is that it will be ready to use for 2012 spring.

Where do you find parts for this ?

As soon as possible I will give you pictures.

Welcome to the Forum. I love these campers, but I don't have one. I'm sure there are people on here who do, and can help you with parts. Some parts, I imagine, will be available on ebay.it, but hopefully someone who owns one can point you in the right direction.

Good luck with the restoration, will be a great van, and more interesting than a VW, when it's finished!

Make a search for Fiat 238 on ebay.fr and ebay.it and see what you can find. I am sure that documentation and some pieces will be avaiable in Italian and just maybe in French.

Hi Kevin,
I also recently bought a 238 camper to restore. I have not started yet but have discovered that a lot of the mechanicals are based on the Fiat 124 (which later became the Lada), so there should be plenty of parts available. There are lots of bits always on ebay.it.

Hi there,

I write from Italy, please forgive me I speak English, my brother French.

Anyway I have a lot of original spare parts for old Fiat Group cars, my dad was a seller of spare parts for car, then he became a seller of spare parts for truck and bus (IVECO OM), so he took apart a big stock of these spare parts for cars, it's a big stock from '60 '70 '80 '90.

For the 238 I completed a list and I did all the photo, the stock is so big that's difficult to classify it all, that's why the lists of spare parts are often to be updated, anyway righ now there are 195 part numbers for all version of 238, but you can ask me for every car by fiat.
