It's good news :)

Firstly, thanks for ALL of your help.

We've swapped the headlamp for the one that Dub sent to me. A set of long-reach sockets did the trick and the job didn't take long at all :)

The headlamps now flash again :):):). Must have been dirty contacts or something because we removed the steering wheel, lifted out the unit of stalks, wriggled it about a bit (all very technical you see) and then it started to work again :)

As a bonus, I even have self-cancelling indicators now, which I didn't before. We correctly aligned the steering wheel with a small disc behind it, so I don't have to cancel the indicators myself! Oh, the luxury :p

I bought two Goodyear GT2 tyres a few days ago for the rear, because the ones that were on appeared to have perished and had cracks in the sidewall [xx(]. But the Goodyear's were a good price, at £27.50 each all in. Tyre, valve, balancing, old tyre disposal, the lot :) I had it done at Great Barr so can give you the number if you're interested?

The MOT is booked for Tuesday morning. I'll keep you updated ;)

Nice result, Paul.

Tyres are OK for a little longer: I've swapped them between the two..
The CL now has the 155's to get daughter #1's confidence back.
My CLX has the 135's we put on the CL 8k miles ago, so there's plenty of tread.

My next (known about) expense is likely to be the 'box in the CLX: daughter #2 was out learning in it yesterday for the first time. Poor old car [:0]

I can only echo Steves comment about the MOT...

Thanks both for your good wishes and keeping your fingers crossed.

She passed the MOT without any problems at all. Just cost me the £22.95 for the test.

Best of luck with the 'box John. How's your daughter getting on with the Panda to learn in?

Well done with the test.

Regarding learning in the Panda - I'm starting to come out in spots!
You can't have any Idea how traumatic it is [:0]

We haven't even been out in the traffic yet, this is just around some of the very large car parks around here, when they're empty B)

Having said thet though - she's showing more promise than daughter #1, and she passed first time...

We'll do a bit more around there, have a holiday to recover, then get her in a dual control car with an instructor on the roads in the traffic.

The Panda will do more when she's polishing up the clutch burning, again B)
