General Exhaust falls off

The exhaust pipe keeps coming unhooked at the back, it seems to be in place okay, but whenever i got over the slightest bump it jumps off. Does the rubber bit at the back fail to hold it securely with age?
Seems such a basic problem i dont want to be charged £50 at quick fit for giving it a bonk with a hammer.

They're not all rip-off merchants.. had a similar problem with my old 750, took it to the local tyre + exhaust place who wired it up in 2 minutes. They didn't want to charge me for it (obviously figured I was skint as I was driving a Panda).. in the end I persuaded them to take a fiver off me for the workshop coffee fund. Good deal all round, I'd say

Just go to your local Bosal exhaust stockist and ask for some new rubber mounts, they are identical to Fiat ones. Also, maybe your mounting bracket has become damaged or possibly bent downwards?

Once you've got a new rubber all should be well. I find they're really solid once on properly. I just keep losing the one in the middle of the exhaust on the Selecta but that doesn't seem to affect anything luckily.

If you lose the centre one, it will put a fair bit of strain on the rest of the system, always have one fitted on there.

Whoops. I'd better get that sorted! Thanks for the word of warning (only had the system from cat back changed in Oct, so want it to last a little while at £175!)

Just out of curiosity to you mean the one on the back box or the tail pipe?

The tail pipe mount is welded to the rear vallance and often seperates so looks like it's attached but isn't. There's a bolt through the top and bottom of the rubber section. Top bolt goes through the vallance mount and bottom bolt goes through the tail pipe mount.

Its the hook right at the back behind the rear bumper, have temporarily solved the problem by holding it up with a piece of wire, though its holding nicely i may leave it like this.

Have the mount re-welded and your problem will be solved, a simple tack on each corner should do but make sure the metal on the valance is solid first or you'll just end up with a big hole....

I done the same with the 750L when it happened to that, but always came off when going down bumpy roads, or over the bumps at college.

ah fair enough, but those older than about 25 bought the panda while it was still in production.... that would be like me buying one of those new pandas... why!!

I only got my first panda 5 years ago! (and I'm 35, hehe)
