Technical Engine Type change

i have a 1989 blue-metallic fiat tipo 1580 petrol dgt version. i'm acomplete novice about cars- i don't understand much but is it possible to convert my car to a diesel or turbo diesel vesrion????

Anything is possible, but the amount of work involved will be phenomenal. Probably a damn site easier just to buy a diesel one.
