I have a 2.8 idtd I changed the cam belt last week and it wont start. 1st point, flywheel pin in, pump pin in, cam mark correct. It tries to start and feels like too little fuel going in and white smoke coming out. I checked the engine stop and there is no current. i took it off and the pin was stuck fast. some wd40 later and it now moves. i then checked the ignition switch , the yellow/grey wire and there is no current. my question is, did the siezure blow a fuse, (a hidden fuse,)? or a relay or something else? also tried to buy a new engine but cant find one for my model, thanks in anticipation.

Check the inertia switch behind the battery.
just got back, had a look, scratched my head, i dont know what it looks like. It is a camper so there are a lot of fuses and things? behind the battery, can you be more specific please

Looks like an upsidedown relay screwed to the firewall there is a rubber cover on it at the bottom sometimes red sometimes black. Press up the rubber cover to reset.

Yes, found it, when i connected the battery it sparked, it didnt before. but still no current at the engine stop. ive read about an apart switch to work manualy, maybe the way to go. i also fitted a new diesel filter and am not sure if its bled through, now its dark ill carry on tomorow. thanks for the info

the cable for the engine stop is grey/yellow. behind the IS is a G/Y cable so i cut a wire to live and checked it out, no current at the engine stop but the side lights are on??? same colour cable!!!! looking further i see 2 g/w cables going behind the thermostat?
