Technical engine management light

a few weeks ago I asked with regards to wd40 and the ecu I have since had a diagnostic check by my fiat dealer thr code is the same p0747 but on their scanner it states a fuel pressure problem they say its probibly the pump £350 plus fitting Im a bit concerned that if they fit the pump and I still get the light coming on I will not be very happy at the moment Im going around with a scanner on the back seat if I cancel the code it could be ok for a day or a few miles then it comes on again its a manual box.

Just had a look on codes for this one it states:

P0747 Pressure Control Solenoid Stuck On

not according to the fiat dealers scanner thats what puzzles me my scanner states what you have quoted i have seen their scanner it states fuel pressure low

Thats interesting, personally I would get the Presure control Solenoid replaced and see what happens and to be on the safe side get another dealer to fit it, has to be a lot cheaper than the pump, and also you may have to replace the solenoid any way, if you do the pump, lets us know which way you have gone and if it gets sorted

thanks for your input I spoke to a local diesel specialist this pm give them there due he found the code p0747 now he says its a fuel trim problem he took quite a lot of time and trouble to find the code just speaking to him on the phone he certainly seemed to know what he was talking about he cant do anything till 27/8 but I think he may be my best bet. All I can say is the £70 i paid for the scanner has paid for its self already I have to use it daily if not more , again thanks for your input I,ll let you know in due course the outcome any other sujestions will be most welcome.

Hi Dave, Hopefully, he will sort it out for you, be interesting to see which component is faulty/incorrect. Im putting my money on the solenoid, as they are very hard to fault find, when there intermittent, keep us posted

many thanks for your input I read on one of the threads as regards to comma injector cleaner I decided for £6 it wouldnt do any harn so in it went for a few miles 5 at most I had to clear the code as many times I thought this had made it 10 times worse but this am I started the car it stalled a coulple of times and the engine light came on cleared the faults codes and took it for a run must have done 40 miles and no light so I have everything crossed at the moment as it has gone for a day or so before and then started again the only thing I did get on the scanner this morning doing a mon test whatever that is the last line read sts fail so Im hoping someone in the foram can enlighten me
