Hi guy have only had one key since buying the car and have been looking for a cheap fix for a while, just purchased of ebay a complete lock set with 2 keys (one remote) with ecu and fuse boxes, even got a steering column with it, was £70 for the lot :) was just wondering if anyone could be me with a guide/information of what ill exactly have to change/replace and how hard it will all be? any information would be really appreciated, thanks

if we wrote down everything to do then we would write a book
o someone did a mr haynes available at all good halfords so you might struggle to find one;)(y)

yeah i have a haynes manual for my old punt that was a petrol, however this one is a 1.9jtd so its not any use to me as they didn't do a diesel one....

Hi mate,

As above, the BCU and locks etc should all be the same and therefore in the Haynes or similar.

Only bit that won't be covered is the ECU. It's located in the scuttle tray under the windscreen (right hand side as you look at engine). There's 2 bolts to remove the cover /water deflector and two bolts either side to remove the ECU itself. Be carefull when disconnecting the two multi-plugs so as not to damage any of the pins.

Obviously before you start removing the BCU or ECU make sure you disconnect the battery.

Hi,

Picture above is of the later multijet type ECU. Located in the top middle of the bulkhead.

If you have the old style JTD then yours is under the scuttle as per picture below.
