Technical Driver window gets stuck going back up. Help please

My driver side window gets stuck when going back up in 3 stages. Have to hold on with switch & pull up with hand to get it to go back up. Window will go down with no problems. Any ideas what is causing this problem?

Try some silicone oil spray in the vertical window sliders.

If that doesn't work you could try cleaning the felt inner parts of the seals. Over time they accumulate dirt.Algae and or moss grows swelling them up and pinching the glass. A scrub with a stiff toothbrush and detergent will help.

I've got the same issue actually, when applying the Silicone Oil spray, i'm guessing i'll have to take off the inner door panel to in order to access it or is there an easier method? Also, is there any particular brand of spray you would recommend?

It should get to the bottom -- hidden bits -- eventually.

Halfords do one -- alternatively, food manufacturing places generally use silicone oil sprays in place of mineral oil, so if you know someone who works in one, you may get a freeby.

Liamsteeth did you manage to solve your window fault problem? & did your driver window get stuck in three places making a grinding noise. I have left my driver window for now but will need it fixed for the summer. Been told it might be motor/regulator. Any one else recently had this fault?

Motors are generally fairly reliable and the more likely suspect would be the regulator. As the load increases over time the cables can jump the pulleys and make the grinding noise. I'd take off the door card for a look.

For a quicker cheaper temporary alternative, candle wax might do the job. Just run the tip of one along the length of the channels.
