I have bought a 1988 4x4 that I plan to restore bit by bit. Although some rust in body, it doesn't appear too bad. However nearside door is frightful and offside one in need of tlc! Does anyone know of the whereabouts of a n/s door, ideally rustfree if that's possible!! Thanks

Try searching some Italian ScrapYards when next over there :D lol.

yes, i just threw a rust-free one in a skip because the glass was broken. was this a mistake?

but i do know where i could find a few, there are at least three perfectly useable pandas in a scrapheap near where i live (surrey), the doors aren't rusty, or dented as far as i remember, thats why i took one

Any chance of letting me know where in surrey these scrapheaps are - I am not that far away and am prepared to travel!!

The scrapyard is called Bridges, and is in Pease Pottage, just off the M23 south of Gatwick and Crawley.
Last time i was there, there were 4 pandas, 2 carburetor ones, and 2 SPI ones, including a black 750.
This was 2 weeks ago though, they may have been crushed!
If/when you get there, it is worth looking on the site down to the right as you are passing through the entrance, as most of the older cars are down there.
Print this info off and take it with you.

I would just like to thank 'edmundhill685' again for the info about Bridges scrapyard! Visited on Saturday and the place was massive! Managed to find just one Panda, but it was a J plate Super with everything. Managed to get all we wanted and more, just still can't decide whether I want the 155/65 tyres at £15 a piece with origional mint hubs! Just they're all fairly new. Sods law as I spent £53 on a set of rubber on the Selecta the day before:mad:

Jon.

Did you manage to get any doors? Or weren't you looking for them?

We were looking for some, but only in blue (or possibly white but we've already got a spare pair of rust free white doors), but the Panda in question was a silvery colour, and I know the drivers door had rotten through at the front and I didn't see how bad the pass door was, but know it was dented because the poor thing had been in a bit of a knock (pass door mirror missing, and window smashed).

We got the following:
  • Internally adjustable drivers door mirror (already on the Selecta where the last one got smashed by a Luguna),
  • Rear view (dazzle) mirror,
  • 'A' pillar internal plastic trim things,
  • Windscreen vents 'long' plastic trim cover,
  • Locking fuel cap,
  • Boot and 1 door lock and key (unfortunatly the other door lock had been drilled:mad:)
  • Head light and assoiated bank of switches,
  • Clock,
  • Rear floor mounted ashtray,
  • Relays out of fuse block.
And what was even better was what they wanted for all this. We were expecting to pay £30-£40, but were asked for just £10!:D

I think the list is longer, but thats all that springs to mind at the mo.
