Hi,

We have a motorhome on an 18 plate Ducato 2.3 Multijet 150 chassis, we got broken into last year so I am trying to fit Pro Plates on the door locks.

I have managed to get the plastic arm rest off of the passenger door inside but am struggling to get the cream coloured panel off without damaging the clips.

I bought a set of trim removal tools but I am having absolutely no joy with them, has anyone got any tips to help me out please?

I have pictures but as a newbie the system won't let me upload them.

I had to replace the mirror on my 2006 x244 2.8JTD. I managed to carry out a surgical operation on on a limited area of the door membrane, which you may have to replace. Only some of the "fir tree" clips for the door trim were reuseable. To minimise possible damage to the trim, use as wide a tool as possible. One of my favourites is a 3" electricians bolster chisel.

As mentioned use as wide a tool as possible, and not metal if you can help it.

It is a certainty that you WILL break some clips, the joys of modern clip together vehicles............... Ask any mechanic!!

There is a site called something like " car clips ", or try Google with "Fiat plastic panel clips" or something. A fraction of the price from Fiat themselves.

A lot of the trim is held on with the same type of clip.

I bought a bag of them to keep for future.

Changed wiper linkage today ( seized with water sitting around spindle ) and needed to modify some ever so slightly to refit the scuttle panel.

Not sure if this helps.

took some trim off the back when installing my licence plate.
They kind of screwed out as you lever them.
They certainly didn't just pop out and I was using proper plastic trim removers.
...you will probably bend or damage some?

Unsure if those are the same type?

This YouTube video shows the complete fitting process for Pro-Plates on a Ducato/Relay

Sorry, I'm not allowed to post the link, but you can find it by searching for 'Pro Plate Install' on YouTube.

It's really helpful to watch this guy do the whole process, but then take rather more care when doing it yourself.
