hello everyone! i've owned a barchetta for like 3 weeks now, the battery is pretty much dead it only starts if you give it power, HOWEVER today i had a problem: i could not open the door with the normal key. when i try to unlock it, it gets a sound but it does not open. what could it be wrong? by the night it rained and it was also cold but idk if this could be a reason. yesterday i had no problem unlocking it
thanks for taking ur time to read this

Do not leave it with a very poor battery it can easily cause ecu and immobilizer faults rendering the vehicle permanently unstartable

so should i get it a new battery even though i dont drive the car in the winter?

If you are not going to use the vehicle disconnect the battery.
Make sure when you reconnect the battery to keep the key far away from the car.

What could possibly happen with the key or immobilizer after reconnecting the battery? Have done this zillion times with key being in different places.
In case of troubles with immo of door locks not opening, just disconnect the dead battery, wait some minutes and reconnect the new charged battery.

When disconnecting or reconnecting the battery, the key needs to be out of range of the immobiliser. If it reads a key as it connects, it can get confused, as it gets the key info, before it has fully booted the ECU to find a code to match it to. 'Cart before the horse'. It can then decide that key is incorrect, and never recognise it again.
