Hello everyone,
I have 3 first generation Multiplas and now, with two of them, the clutch pedal position after changing the clutch cable is much higher than the other 2 pedals. I know UK vehicles have hydraulic clutches, but I would like to know if anyone has had this type of problem ?
If I align the clutch pedal with the others, there is not enough throw to fully disengage the clutch which is strange.
Any thoughts would be welcome !
All the best,
Mike

Worn clutch components inside the bell housing could cause the symptoms you are seeing regarding pedal height.
Worn clutch could need more lever movement to fully release clutch. So you are adjusting cable to allow more lever movement which in turn raises the clutch pedal at rest.

I’d also check the clutch disengagement fork and the two little top hat bearings it runs in, for wear. I’ve never had a chance to see the LHD cable operated setup, so it’s hard to comment on that specifically. I wish the RHD ones were cable though. There isn’t any adjustment in the hydraulic setup (supposedly it’s self-adjusting) but that’s something it could sorely do with.
