I know this may sound horrible and please dont take it that way but why not pay the extra for a brand new car as you can get everything you want instead of what someone else wanted and decided to trade in. Dont forget that if you buy someones idea of a ideal car it may not be to your taste and then that car may end back to the same place you got it. If you cant afford it try fiat benfield they have a great offer at the moment 5 year 0% apr at least then you can pay 10K up front any pay the rest on a 5 year price plan.

No offence taken;) i did toy with that idea, but at the end of the day, finances (read wife:D) won't allow that.lol.

By the time i'd added the options i wanted, total was over £16k:eek: instead, got a used one for £9k with 2000 miles on, with the extra's i wanted, jobs a goodun. Wish i had £10k to put up front, hehe.
Lot of opinion on the skydome, dare say it would lighten up the interior quite a bit. unfortunately, living right at the top of scotland, sunshine is a bit thin on the ground;) but very true about the birds:D Seagulls poop from a great height leaves a cracking mess when it hits the car:eek:.

I believe this applies to all of fiat but I think you have to pay list price for the car which is way above what you could get it for

Oh and Tad - surrender I think not - cant be arsed going over the same point with you :p

Depreciation is the biggest cost of motoring, and within minutes it doesn't matter if it was new or a year old - you've lost money - but far less on the pre-owned car. The happiness surely comes from knowing you spent as little as possible on a car you like. Perrys has great deals too. I've just seen a new Panda Diesel for £6000 and a 1.2 petrol for £5000. This is fantastic value. Keep one for five years and trade it in for a thousand or two, and you've spent less than £1000 a year on motoring, tax and insurance included.

All depends on how old you are,
If your young you may pay over £1000 a year for insurance
what car you get - a 5 year old bottom of the range panda would be lucky to get £1000
Tax is on top of that
Factor in service costs and fuel, brakes, tyres etc and your sums seem a little out

you cant make a generalised statement like that

I'm middle aged so I never consider the costs for young drivers. £1000 for insurance sounds horrendous though. However, £5000 for a new car has to be a good deal regardless of the driver's age. I wasn't including fuel etc. in any of the costings as these are not fixed, but rather depend on usage. But a Bravo would surely cost even more to insure?

I don't know how well the Panda holds it value but you have been able to pick up a brand new povety spec Ford Ka for £4999 for ages now and 7/8 year examples with average mileage still go for near £2k. Obviously the new model will change this but still shows it can be done.

I know people who buy a 10 year old Mondeo with 100k on the clock for £300. Run it into the ground for a year and when it breaks/fails MOT just buy another one. £300 a year for motoring, in a car which although no very exciting is a pretty good work horse.

Old estates for £500 are bargins as well, some are big enough as van replacements and costs nothing to buy, run, abuse and then repeat.

I think you'll find anyone can have an opinion on anything they like, as you so often do

So What is the point of the sky dome then ????
to look out of when your parked up somewhere ?,
maybe admire the bird ****e from the underside?,
perhaps to cool down on a hot summers day with the wind blowing in your hair (what aircon is for)
"Daddy why is it so hot in the car "- oh that will be the big piece of glass letting in all the sunlight and making the car into a large oven
Perhaps to let in rain, bird poo, insects, sand grit stones etc etc while driving along
(y)(y)(y)
hmmm, order me one now
And its been mentioned on a thread or 2 about instability at high speeds when having the skydome.

Couldnt have said it better myself lol

IMO if im allowed to have 1 on something I dont own is that the skydome isnt what I would call a skydome more a sunroof with a tiny extension ....I dont like the fact it has a big piece of roof between both of them which is why i went for duel C/Control istead much more practical in our weather

One of my work mates has a 407 SW estate with a skydome and that is truely massive and offers impressive veiws for the passengers - the bravo one is very poor incomparison.

But Id rather a bravo than a 407 anyday
